As the Starks are rather fond of saying, ‘Winter is coming’, and it’s time to get serious about the key winter style essential – boots. First up is Boot Camp- the single most important accessory of the season. But can things ever be so simple with our Hedonistas around? Coco & O-Ren are at it again and this time have declared Winter War I. The trenches are dug. The guns are loaded. Let the games begin!

Coco: Cherry is my absolute favourite pick when it comes to versatile boots that can be worn with everything. And these are my cherry picks of the season- Python, leather and suede classics by Lanvin with a bit of purple thrown in for good measure.

O-Ren: These Chloe knee-length boots are my pick. While the colour options are classic black and brown, the lace–up front is an exciting twist giving these boots a very playful vibe. Equally game for dresses and leggings, these boots are my go-to option this season.

2. Flat out

Coco: Flats are anathema to me but if we absolutely must step down then I’d do it in much flair in these pretty Moncler ‘Rose’ sneaker boots. Creamy leather and interesting weave detail make up for the lack of heels. Well, somewhat.

O-Ren: Classic yet bad-ass, these Givenchy boots stole my heart. We girls do love the bad boys and these bad boys had me falling flat on my feet.

3. Thighs as high as my dreams

Coco: Thigh highs are BIG this season so this is a must buy. And these ribbed and edgy Gianni Rensi thigh highs made break out into, ‘These boots are meant for walking, And I’ll walk all over you!’ and in complete Star Wars style too! MUST. HAVE.THEM.

O-Ren: Like Coco said, thigh highs are all the rage this season. But then we just don’t want to bend in, do we? My pick are these very very twisted, right out of a fantasy movie, Dior boots. Mini A-line or skater dresses are the perfect match for these boots. Don’t forget the sharply winged liner.

Coco: These Alaïa booties are a perfect combination of chic with cheek. Pair them with your smart and short plaids or the evening floaty dress, they’ll work their magic on bare legs anyway.

O-Ren: Something so bare, so minimal and yet so arresting about these booties from Rossi. These booties are a piece of art, a leather kimono wrapped with an obi belt for your feet. Perfect to add that extra smattering of confidence at work.

5. Material Matters

Coco: This one is going to raise some eye brows but I’m going to go crazy and indulgent with this adorable shearling dream. Powder pink and fully letter lined, the sculpted Perspex heels are that added spunk. Fendi for Fall is my motto!

O-Ren: Once in an eon, there rises a new sun in the world of fashion. Something that changes our world view forever. The Dior footwear collective in patent is exactly that. Wet. Glossy. Hi-shine. Liquid slick. Women, a new sun has risen.

6. Walk on colour

Coco: Love stacking colour and this appliqué dream thigh high from Burberry does the winter colour palette beautifully. And with this I get to have two high highs 😉

O-Ren: They said Marsala is the colour of the year. Well tell us something new. As far as every woman can remember, we have always had a special spot for wine, cherry, oxblood in our hearts and shoe-closets. A classic colour, I love Marni’s new take on it with contrasting blush heels.

7. Moto Mania

Coco: For my Moto boots pick I’m leaning towards classic army lace up style with these Saint Laurent Patti leather army boots. Old school, mean looking and completely heavy duty as biker boots should be.

O-Ren: The Taylor Swift of moto-boot world, these Moschino boots look tough and yet beam out an awww-so-cuoote vibe with their Mickey Mouse shaped gold hardware. I’m sure my style icon Yolandi would pick these moto boots and so would I.  These boots, an oversized sweatshirt, topped with a military parka and I’m in the zone.

Coco: Take your winter mini style a notch higher with these Sophia Webster Chiara ankle booties. The pin thin heel and the stunning rose gold butterfly detail is the perfect foil for those gorgeous bare legs.

O-Ren: Modern- minimal, understated chic, contemporary cool – channel all those vibes with these Jason Wu booties. Geometric heels that do all the shining while you keep it cool, hold your champagne glass and do all the talking. Wear them everywhere and definitely to a party if you support #clubclean

Coco: Black leather in a second skin fit. Quirky heels. Flirtatious lace up detail. Sexy describes these statement Nunka boots from Givenchy perfectly. The minis in my wardrobe just screamed in pleasure 😉

O-Ren: Need I say more?

10. Give these a BOOT

Coco: I only have one thing to say. Never let the Ugg(ly) life choose you.

O-Ren: If you think fringe boots are cool, then you along with those love-boots need to be relegated to the fringes of our social circle.

That’s all for WWI ladies. Take your pick and start arming yourself for the winter. It’s the festive shopping time and one of these beauties could be yours for the season.

May the Force be with you!
